EU4Monitoring Drugs II launched in Brussels

The second phase of the EU4Monitoring Drugs programme was launched in April. This second iteration of the programme marks a new phase of cooperation between the EU and the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA).

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) organised a stakeholder event in Brussels on Wednesday, 19 April. At this occasion , EMCDDA and the EU officially launched the second phase of the regional programme EU4Monitoring Drugs (EU4MD) by organising the first advisory committee meeting. The second phase of EU4MD will be running until the end of 2027 and will support Southern and Eastern neighbourhood partners to better detect and respond to drug-related health and security threats. The stakeholder event also included a panel discussion with the Director of EMCDDA and NEAR Acting Director for the Neighbourhood South and Türkiye, Henrike Trautmann, on the new mandate of the EMCDDA, and the advisory committee of IPA8, the other new programme of EMCDDA in the Western Balkans.
