After a first workshop in November 2022, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Moroccan Association for International Trade and Logistics, as well as the Mohammed V University of Rabat, met again in Rabat from 6 to 10 February for a week of training.

Familiar with the #EuromedTradeHelpdesk tool and able to conduct an analysis to identify products with high potential for Moroccan exports, the participants followed a training of trainers course. The goal was to set up a "team" of certified trainers who will raise awareness among Moroccan economic operators on the use of this tool, guide them in the search for new commercial opportunities and help them understand the conditions of access to the target market.

This activity is part of an effort to perpetuate and increase awareness of the Euromed Trade Helpdesk, a free online tool that provides users with key information for their export decisions, especially towards Mediterranean and EU countries. According to ITC estimates, Moroccan exporters could be exporting nearly $1 billion worth of goods to southern and eastern Mediterranean countries by 2027.

It is in this perspective of regional potential that ITC is working closely with the Directorate General of Trade, within the framework of the project "Trade and Investment Facilitation Mechanism - Phase 2" (TIFM II), funded by the European Union. At the end of this week of training, the trainers will have until June to implement a first training to be formally certified.
