The 2nd Ministerial Conference on Transport of the Union for the Mediterranean took place on the 9th of February. The event was fully online and aimed to acknowledge the progress achieved in fulfilling the objectives of the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the sector, as defined at the last Transport Ministerial Conference in 2013.

Around 90 participants connected online, from almost all UfM partner countries. Over 20 representatives had interventions during which the parties highlighted the importance of transport connectivity in the Euro-Mediterranean region and the gradual progress towards developing an integrated, multimodal, efficient, interoperable transport network, with the ultimate goal of achieving deeper regional integration.

The event was concluded with the formal adoption of the Ministerial Declaration on Transport, the Evaluation Report of Regional Transport Action Plan 2014-2020 and the new Regional Transport Action Plan (2021-2027).
