Representatives of Jordanian Ministry of Industry Trade and Supply, Department of Statistics from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, Customs and Central Bank of Jordan were introduced to the Euromed Trade Helpdesk, an online regional portal that provides key insights about these trade opportunities: value of potential, trade flows, market access conditions, business partners, among others.

According to ITC estimates, Jordan has a potential to export an additional $501.1 million of merchandises to the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries, the most promising sectors being chemicals and fertilizers, pharmaceutical components, and apparel.

Discussions were also held on transparency in trade and collaboration to provide economic operators with reliable and up-to-date market-related information through Euromed Trade Helpdesk, for informed business decisions of Jordanian entrepreneurs.

This workshop was organised in the context of the EU-funded project Trade and Investment Facilitation Mechanism phase II.
