The first Steering Committee of the EuroMed Transport Aviation Project (ETAP) was held on 8^th December.

The overall objective of the project is to support the sustainable development of the civil aviation/administration systems in the beneficiary countries and to help the countries to implement the UfM Regional Transport Action Plan 2014-2020 and its follow-up plan for 2021-2017 on relevant aviation chapters.

The specific objectives of the project are to encourage and facilitate the States’ regulatory convergence with EU and international standards, to develop their capacity for regulatory oversight, to support regional dialogue and the pooling of resources at regional level, and to support the implementation of Aviation Agreements (by assessing regulatory convergence) and Working Arrangements concluded between these countries and the EU and/or EASA.

Total amount of the EU budget contribution is EUR 3 000 000.
