Representatives from Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, the European Commission, the Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe and CyberSouth project’s partners met in Brussels and on-line to assess the results of the activities carried out during the last semester and discuss the new plan for 2023.

Countries representatives from the Southern Neighbourhood region shared information on national developments and indicated their priorities for future activities in the fight against cybercrime.

The meeting was also attended by many partners of the project such as EU programmes in the MENA region, EU CyberNet, US/INL and US Department of Justice, who shared information on activities and future plans in the region.

The CyberSouth project will enter in its last year of implementation. In 2023, the project will work with national judicial training institutions to integrate cybercrime modules into the national curricula and will organise workshops on the use of the new measures introduced by the Second Additional Protocol to the Budapest Convention.  It will also facilitate interagency co-operation by promoting understanding on the links between cybersecurity and cybercrime and between personal data protection and cybercrime. Public-private partnership will also be supported by organising meetings with Internet Service Providers.
