Financial Inclusion Policies and Innovative MSME Financing in the South Med

The MED MSMEs programme organized on December 1 and 2, 2022, a regional policy dialogue seminar in Brussels on Financial Inclusion Policies and Innovative MSME Financing in the South Med.

The event gathered more than 70 participants among which Central Banks (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia), non-banking regulators (Financial Regulatory Authority of Egypt), Ministries (Egypt; Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine), Industries and finance non-banking financial, SME agencies (Tunisia, Morocco) as well as  financial institutions (Finance in Motion, Inpulse CoopMed) and representatives of the private sector  and civil society.

The event was articulated over two days dedicated respectively to the implementation of the financial inclusion strategies, and policy and regulatory innovations in the South Med region. Three tools developed by the Programme were also presented, namely the “investment readiness self-assessment toolkit” and two guides on gender and digitalization and microfinance.

The dialogue identified 23 recommendations and calls for action under four themes, namely: policies and strategies, digitalization, green transition and gender.
