The MED MSMEs Programme organised on November 21, 2022, a Tabadool Dialogue on the necessity to mainstream the gender dimension in the policies and regulations aiming at facilitating access to finance for the MSMEs.

The online event gathered representatives of South Med Central Banks and regulators, fintech associations, women in business associations and policy makers eager to make fintech inclusive by avoiding the pitfall of replicating the existing gender bias in access to finance.

The webinar was also the opportunity for DG NEAR to highlight the gender aspects of the New Agenda for the Mediterranean (2021 – 2027) in line with the principles of the Gender Equality Strategy (2020 – 2025).

Findings and recommendations of the Fintech in gender lens MED MSMEs study (under peer review) were also presented in view of informing an action plan that will be discussed in Brussels on December 2, 2022.
