First Regional Technical Training on Trade and Employment for Specialists from Southern Mediterranean Countries
The Mainstreaming Employment into Trade and Investment (METI) project conducted its first regional technical training on trade and employment at ITCILO in Turin. During the one-week training (31 Oct - 4 Nov), 15 specialists from relevant government departments, social partners and other national institutions from Southern Mediterranean countries learned about concepts, methodologies and tools to assess the effects of trade policies on employment. The hybrid event featured lectures, hands-on training sessions and a panel discussion. Inputs were provided by ILO colleagues from headquarters and the field, as well as by ITCILO, ITC, UNCTAD, OECD and DataWheel.
