The workshop was aimed at providing technical assistance to the FDI department of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the Central Bank of Egypt to advance their methodology for the compilation of greenfield investment and extension of capacity statistics. It brought together 23 officials as well as 8 experts in the field of FDI greenfield statistics who shared their national methodologies and experience. The workshop managed to discuss the various compilation challenges faced by the Egyptian authorities and set up the basis for a more informed dialogue on the development of better guidance on greenfield investment and extension of capacity statistics.
