A decade of hosting Syrian refugees in Jordan - lessons learnt for Poland  and Feeds Filled with Frustration: Southern Mediterranean reactions to EU Responses towards Ukraine examine how the war in Ukraine have shaped a new scenario in Europe. On one hand, in the first analysis, Katarzyna Sidlo and Marah Jamous propose a set of recommendations based on Jordan’s experience - that welcomed 3 million people (nearly half of them Syrian) – given Poland’s lack of experience in welcoming such large number of refugees. And on the other hand, in his analysis, Abdullatif Sleibi examines the reaction of the EU countries towards the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, how the narratives have changed in comparison to previous conflicts, and what could have been done differently.
