CyberSouth: National workshop on the preparation of criminal justice statistics on cybercrime and e-evidence in Algeria

The fourth workshop in the series dedicated to the preparation of criminal justice statistics on cybercrime and e-evidence took place on 22 February 2022, for the Algerian stakeholders.

The roles and benefits, types of statistics, challenges in collecting them and best practices were presented and discussed. The representatives of the  Gendarmerie, Police and Ministry of Justice from Algeria presented their mechanism for collecting and analysing statistical data on cybercrime and e-evidence and contributed to the discussions.  The Algerian statistical system was assessed towards the international standards and best practices and the Guide on criminal justice statistics on cybercrime developed under the project was offered in support of further development of different applications for collecting statistical data at the domestic level.

Follow up support will continue to be provided by the CyberSouth project for the development and implementation of strategies for preventing and fighting cybercrime
