The overarching objective of Brussels V was to renew and strengthen the international community's political, financial and humanitarian commitments to support the Syrian people, the neighbouring countries, and the communities most affected by the conflict.

The international community confirmed €3.6 billion in funding to support humanitarian, resilience and development activities in 2021 for the Syria crisis response and the neighbouring countries hosting the largest Syrian refugee population.
