EUTF in brief

Six years into its creation and with €2.365 billion of adopted actions, the EU Trust Fund has proven its added value beyond its economy of scale and the pooling of contributions from 21 EU Member States, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. It offers a reinforced approach in Europe’s response to the Syrian crisis, improving coordination and coherence while addressing the longer-term needs of both refugees and local communities.

date:  08/06/2021

To date, the EU Trust Fund provides support to more than 7.8 million beneficiaries in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, the Western Balkans, and Armenia. Providing access to education, livelihoods and socio-economic opportunities, health care, protection, social cohesion activities and water and hygiene, as well as opportunities for sustainable income generation and strengthening national systems are at the heart of the Trust Fund mandate. The EU Trust Fund, moreover, has a particular focus on women, girls, and youth.
