Syrian and Lebanese Youth ‘Got Talent’ at Summer Camps (SFCG- FURSA)

date:  27/09/2017

Even though Aya had limited interactions with Syrians before and despite experiencing a traumatic robbery incident where Syrians were first suspected, but later cleared, Aya feels the summer camp enhanced her understanding and acceptance of the Syrian refugee community in Lebanon.

“The incident taught us not to judge the other based on fear, and FURSA helped reinforce these ideals by giving us the opportunity to live side by side and learn next to them," she stresses.

Mohamad Assaf, is a Syrian living in West Bekaa.

"As a person of short stature and fleeing from the conflict in Syria, photography gave me a push over the limitations and boundaries. I believe that now I can generate the income I need to support my family and develop my personal skills," Mohamad said after following the FURSA photography class.
