On 11 April, the EED convened an event in its premises in Brussels, an opportunity for representatives of independent media in the Southern Neighbourhood to discuss the socio-political context, the challenges they face and their approaches to independent information sharing.

Representatives of 22 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) met at the 16th Regional Platform on Employment and Labour. DG NEAR presented the recently launched EU-funded regional projects in support to Youth NEETs (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) and women’s economic empowerment in the Southern Neighbourhood.

Clima-Med’s sixth short film, “A Glimpse of Hope,” spotlights inspiring changemakers committed to the Covenant of Mayors for the Mediterranean and already leading the way on the green transition. Their commitments are directly benefitting from Clima-Med project's support.

11 Lebanese municipalities, 8 of which represented by the Union of Baalbek municipalities, joined the CoM Med and participated in a workshop. This marks one step towards more integrated and collective climate action.

In February, Tunisian representatives from different public and private institutions successfully completed their second "Training of Trainers" workshop.

Building on a successful first phase, the EU cooperation with the Council of Europe on the fight against cybercrime continues with CyberSouth+. The programme held its launching event in Lisbon.

These municipalities, all signatories to the Covenant of Mayors for the Mediterranean, have reached an important milestone by finalising their SEACAPs.

A two-day workshop gathered key Moroccan stakeholders to discuss practical aspects of the preparation and implementation of SEACAPs, and particularly those related to access to key financing mechanisms.
