EU4HealthSecurity: Annual meeting of the National ECDC Correspondents in the European Neighbourhood Policy partner countries and the MediPIET National Focal Points
The annual meeting of National ECDC correspondents in European Neighbourhood partner countries and MediPIET national focal points was organised on 21 and 22 November 2022, in Stockholm.
The event was organised in the framework of the EU Initiative on Health Security, which aims at setting up a regional workforce responsible for the prevention and control of challenges posed by communicable diseases and at enhancing regional cooperation to tackle cross-border health security threats.
The specific objectives of the meeting were to:
- Give an overview of the activities implemented within the three operational work packages: 1) Workforce oriented capability building/MediPIET, 2) Epidemic intelligence, risk assessment, preparedness and response, 3) Integration into ECDC systems, knowledge sharing and networking.
- Discuss and agree with National ECDC Correspondents the implementation of activities – challenges and priorities of the EU Initiative on Health Security.
- Present and discuss the draft work programme for 2023.
