Nele Labi: State must create conditions for enabling innovation

According to Nele Labi, Deputy Secretary General for Innovation at the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs, the state should not hamper innovation and instead create suitable conditions for innovation and ensure that no good idea misses an opportunity. Innovation is not about ideas but execution, she says.

 
ITGALL, the Living Lab network managed by CSG

ITGALL is the Living Lab network managed by the Galician Health Cluster (Cluster Saúde de Galicia, CSG) that includes several living labs, which are spread all over the region of Galicia, Spain. The network was established as a result of the European-funded project IN-4-AHA, where living labs were used to test tech/digital solutions in the context of active and healthy aging. The ITGALL network is based on a model that includes research, clinical excellence, digital transformation, and technological development to test innovative solutions across multiple sectors.

 
Population ageing and health financing: A method for forecasting two sides of the same coin - New article and tool

To better understand the implications of population ageing for health financing and to identify policy options, the European Observatory, together with the WHO Kobe Centre, developed the Population Ageing financial Sustainability gap for Health systems (or alternatively, the PASH) Simulator tool. The PASH Simulator tool allows a user to see how both health expenditures and health revenues are expected to change through the end of the century due to changes in population age-structure across a wide range of countries.

 
AHA Reference Sites Award Ceremony

On 10th October 2022, the AHA RSCN Award Ceremony took place, to celebrate and recognise the success of AHA Reference Site Regions under the 4th call. The programme organised by the AHA Reference Site Collaborative Network with the support of the European Commission (DG Connect-H3), included sessions on European insights, presentations on selected European funded projects, presentations of selected good practices from AHA Reference Sites and a round table on aligning regional policies and priorities towards developing smart, healthy, and age-friendly evnironments. At the end, Awards were given to the Reference Sites recognised, by Marco Marsella (DG Cnnect).
