'How to address antisemitism in Europe?' discussion at Jerusalem Post Conference in London

31 March 2022 - The European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life joined a panel discussion of special, Lord John Mann (United Kingdom), Dr. Felix Klein (Germany) and US Deputy Special envoy Aaron Keyak at the hybrid Jerusalem Post Conference gathering about 450 people at the Tottenham Stadium premises.

The panel focused on the strategies on combating antisemitism as well as the specific challenges faced at different levels for Jewish communities, from security of places of worship to antisemitism in campuses.

Ms. von Schnurbein also held a separate bilateral meeting with Fiona Bruce, the United Kingdom's Prime Minister's Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion or Belief, and Lord Eric Pickels, UK Special Envoy for post-Holocaust issues.

INFO SESSION: Call for proposals - protection of public spaces, including places of worship
The European Commission organises an online info session on the Call for proposals for actions on the protection of public spaces (including places of worship, CBRN-E, unmanned aircraft systems) (ISF-2022-TF1-AG-PROTECT).

The session will cover the two thematic priorities of the call as well as all the legal and administrative aspects relevant for the application process.

The call is open until 11 May 2022 and all eligibility criteria can be found in the Funding & Tender Opportunities Portal.

Experts for evaluating calls for proposals under the new Citiziens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme
The European Commission hires regularly experts for evaluating calls for proposals. If you are an expert in the field of the programme including Holocaust remembrance, antisemitism, Jewish life, Jewish history, racism, discrimination or other related fields on EU values and rights, we encourage you to register in the Commission database “Funding & Tender” portal. Please select then your interest in evaluating calls under the CERV programme. After registration, feel free to make us aware that you are in the database and we might consider you for further evaluations.

Applications open for NOA's Train-The-Trainer

Application for NOA project to become a trainer are now open for teachers, educators, activists and youth workers seeking professional training and resources in order to overcome antisemitism in their region and beyond.

The 'Overcoming Antisemitism' training course was developed with the support of European Commission funded project, such as Belieforama. Led by the trainers of CEJI – A Jewish Contribution to an Inclusive Europe, the ‘Overcoming Antisemitism TTT’ will train two new cohorts of educators, one in English and one in French.

Date & location: 25 – 28 April 2022 (English), Budapest

Home Affairs Council: 10-Point Plan on stronger European coordination on welcoming people fleeing the war against Ukraine

In its conclusions of 24-25 March, the European Council called on Member States to intensify their efforts in a continued spirit of unity and solidarity, and it invited the Commission to take the necessary initiatives to facilitate such efforts.
