KCBD ticketing system: the Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD), upon a request by the EU Delegation to Cameroon received via the KCBD ticketing system, conducted a study on changes in population density, carbon stocks, and fluxes in Key Landscapes for Conservation and Development (KLCDs) in Central Africa, supporting the European Union's NaturAfrica initiative.
IMET webinar: IMET is a Protected Area Management Effectiveness (PAME) tool that allows an in-depth assessment of marine and terrestrial protected areas, regardless of their management categories and governance type. Also a decision-support tool, it helps protected area managers take analysis-based management decisions for improved conservation outcomes. Recently two webinars were given on the IMET tool to the profit of representatives of INTPA, EU Delegations, EU programmes, African national services of Protected areas, the World Commission of Protected Areas, the African Centers of Excellence on Biodiversity and Forests, and protected areas experts.
CBD scientific and technical cooperation centers nominated: the Observatory for Biodiversity and Protected Areas in West Africa (OBAPAO) Consortium, led by the Centre de Suivi Ecologique (CSE), the Commission des Forêts d'Afrique Centrale (COMIFAC), and the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), were selected to host sub-regional centres for scientific and technical cooperation under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). This achievement is a result of the longstanding commitment of these regional observatories and of the crucial collaboration with the BIOPAMA project and with JRC and IUCN teams.
