- TECHRISK's Guidance on Natech risk management for operators of hazardous sites and public authorities has been translated to Dutch by the Dutch National Centre of Expertise for Industrial Safety (LEC). The translation followed multiple requests by industrial safety practitioners in the different safety regions in the Netherlands who wished for the JRC document to also be available in Dutch to support them in the practical implementation of better Natech risk management measures in the regions of their responsibility.
- TECHRISK has been invited by a consortium of Italian researchers to contribute a chapter on Natech risk management to a university course book of the renowned International Centre of Mechanical Studies (CISM) in Udine. This follows a very successful Natech-specific university course invited by CISM, to which also TECHRISK participated.
- TECHRISK has been invited by the Loss Prevention Working Party of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) to give a presentation during the next EFCE Loss Prevention WP Spotlight Talk 2024 focusing on “Adaptation to climate change and impact on the process industry”. The TECHRISK presentation will focus on accident risks due to extreme heat and cold events that are notorious for causing disruptions and hazardous materials releases in the chemical industry. Since 1953, the EFCE has promoted scientific collaboration and supported the work of engineers and scientists in 30 European countries. Today, the EFCE represents more than 100,000 chemical engineers in Europe.
