As a follow-up to the successful collaborations leading to the publication of the Future of Cities Report last year, we are currently working on setting up a more systematic publication of briefs, similar in format to the chapters of the report. The focus will be on identifying emerging trends and challenges cities are faced with, and highlighting both opportunities for cities to act, and examples where they are taking action.

We have identified 3 initial topics of interest:

• Shrinking Cities

• Urban-rural interactions

• Cities fit for the digital age
