Dear Interoperable Europe Friends,

As 2024 comes to an end, we are proud to reflect on an extraordinary year for public sector interoperability in Europe. From the Interoperable Europe Act entering into force to a record-breaking SEMIC 2024 conference, this year has been filled with milestones that showcase the collective achievements of our community.

Here are just a few highlights from the past 12 months:

  • The Interoperable Europe Act officially entered into force, laying the foundation for seamless cross-border digital public services.
  • Joinup transformed into the Interoperable Europe Portal, your central hub for collaboration and interoperability solutions.
  • The newly established Interoperable Europe Board held its first meeting, setting priorities for the implementation of the Act.
  • We celebrated excellence at the first-ever Best Cases Awards, where inspiring projects like "Reimagining Helsinki" took centre stage.
  • A new record was set at SEMIC 2024, with over 1600 participants online and on-site joining discussions on interoperability and digital government.

And, as the year is closing, we were proud to see Leontina Sandu, our Head of Unit, recognised on Apolitical's Government AI 100 List, celebrating her leadership in ensuring that AI policies are underpinned by strong digital infrastructure.

As we look ahead to 2025, we extend our warmest wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday season. May the coming year bring even more opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and progress in building a more connected and interoperable Europe.

Happy holidays and a prosperous New Year!

Warm regards,
The Interoperable Europe Team
