In order to engage with individual practitioners outside the context of specific events, the European Commission would like to establish more structured cooperation with relevant networks at regional and national levels, and promote the work of RAN at these different levels. At the same time, and as announced in the EU Counter Terrorism Agenda, the Commission aims at supporting the creation and further development of such networks in the different Member States.
With this in mind, the European Commission has decided to launch the present call for expressions of interest to establish a list of Ambassadors of the Radicalisation Awareness Network.
The European Commission aims to nominate one Ambassador per Member State.
Description of tasks
The RAN Ambassador:
- will act as an effective multiplier of RAN activities in his/her country based on his/her expertise, experience and networking capacity and function;
- will be the bridge between activities at EU and national level, raising awareness about RAN activities and possibly facilitating the implementation of RAN recommendations at the local, regional or national level, as well as informing about relevant activities within regional or national networks.
The European Commission could decide to invite RAN Ambassadors to the RAN Steering Committee meetings where justified.
