Call for participants
RAN Rehabilitation Workshop ‘Peer and self-review in Exit work’

This virtual meeting will take place on 3 December, from 9.30-13.00 CET

We are looking for participants to join the RAN Rehabilitation Working Group meeting on ‘Peer and self-review in Exit work’.

The call for necessary and professional exit work is taken into account by policymakers, citizens, exit workers and others. The pivotal role in safeguarding society and the short existence of rehabilitation of extremist individuals is a challenging combination. A common way to assess the quality and impactful interventions is the tool of evaluation, generally executed by an independent third party. It is, however, also useful to reflect on exit interventions as practitioners, either on their own work or that of a similar programme. For this reason, RAN developed the ‘Peer and Self Review Manual for Exit Work’ that was published this year.

The goal of this workshop is to provide exit workers the opportunity to become familiar with the manual and to hold sessions as an inspiration for working on improving the quality of your daily practice.

Main topics to be addressed include:

  • Why we think our work makes a difference
  • How to create an environment in which people feel free to express their doubts and questions
  • The differences and the overlaps between evaluation and peer/self-reviews.

Call for participants

We are currently looking for exit and rehabilitation workers with experience in disengagement, de-radicalisation and rehabilitation of radicalised individuals. In order to find the best suited participants, and a relevant mixture of participants, we kindly ask you to fill in our survey. Please refer to the professional experience requirements when providing a short motivation to attend this RAN workshop.

Deadline

To indicate your interest in attendance, submit the online survey by 20 November.

We will invite participants based on this information. Only 30 participants will be invited to attend this workshop to ensure a valuable exchange and interaction. As such, participation for this meeting is not guaranteed.

Please note that a webinar on the outcome of this meeting will take place in December. This webinar will be open to more participants.
