First rules of the Artificial Intelligence Act are now applicable

You may have already heard about the world’s first comprehensive Regulation on Artificial Intelligence (AI): the famous EU AI Act. The content is not as technical as it may seem, and communicating on it is super important as it highlights Commission’s efforts to guide technological progress in a sense that is never detrimental to citizens. As of Sunday, 2 February, the first rules under the AI Act started to apply. This includes the AI system definition, AI literacy, as well as a very limited number of prohibited AI use cases outlined in the AI Act that pose unacceptable risks in the EU.
