ETIPS UPDATE

RHC ETIP

On 6 July, the 13th meeting of the RHC-ETIP Heat Pump Technology Group (HP TP) took place, hosting two stakeholder presentations, both of particular interest to RHC stakeholders. The first, dedicated to "Heating and Cooling Technologies", was presented by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, while the second, presented by Karen Fraser from Scottish Enterprise, covered the "Green Heat National Programme and Clean Energy Transition Partnership calls".

Moreover, the webinar organized by RHC ETIP in collaboration with ETIP SNET was successfully held on 29th June to present and discuss the joint White Paper Coupling of Heating/Cooling and Electricity Sectors in a Renewable Energy-Driven Europe. The interactive debate covered a wide range of issues, from the necessary investments in R&I to rapidly scale up solutions and innovative technologies identified, but also the rescaling and updating of educational programmes for the skills needed by the industry coupling to successfully design, manufacture and install new plants.

SNEPT ETIP 

On 17th July, the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP), in collaboration with its partners in the European SMR pre-Partnership on Small Modular Reactors, has launched a stakeholders’ consultation on the contents of the work developed by each one of the five Work Streams established within the initiative and devoted to market analysis, licencing, financing, supply chain optimisation and Innovation, Research & Development (IR&D) issues. The results of the different analyses performed in the frame of the pre-Partnership are presented in different draft reports. Documents can be consulted here and here.

The stakeholder consultation period runs from 17 July until 15 September 2023 and can be accessed here.

ETIP Batteries Europe

“Supercharging the Workforce: How to Prepare for a Battery-Powered Future”, a joint online session presented by Batteries Europe and BEPA was held on 20th June, as part of EUSEW, the European Sustainable Energy Week. The session focused on how the European workforce can prepare for the future in battery-related jobs, gathering around 102 participants online and generated interest and engagement.
