Thermal Energy storage projects organise the first joint workshop

Join the hybrid workshop organised by ECHO, THUMBS UP, BEST STORAGE and HYSTORE to learn more about thermal energy storage.

date:  02/06/2023

Four projects funded under the Horizon Europe call “Thermal Energy Storage Solutions” are joining forces to organise an event to share lessons learnt from each project and collect feedback from experts and researchers to enhance the quality and functionalities of the Thermal Energy Storage solutions they will develop.

The projects are ECHOTHUMBS UP, BEST STORAGE, and HYSTORE. They are working together as a cluster to support each other in Dissemination and Communication activities, as well as in addressing the technical and scientific challenges common to the four projects.

The event is a hybrid workshop named “Thermal Energy Storage System workshop”. It will be held in Savona (Italy) on 6 September 2023, from 15:15 to 17:15, in the framework of the international conference SUstainable PolyEnergy generation and HaRvesting – SUPEHR23.

During the conference, experts, keynote speakers and technical presenters from all over the world will discuss the most promising technologies for conventional and renewable power generation, enhancing efficiency, flexibility, reducing emissions, and including advanced energy storage solutions.

The workshop will be a good opportunity for intensifying international cooperation, expanding knowledge, and promoting technical disciplines, including attention to social awareness.

The workshop will be divided into two parts: first, a round table with experts that will present each of the four projects, putting in evidence the common challenges and possible synergies foreseen among them. Then, a more interactive part will be organised: four common challenges will be presented by the four projects and shared with the audience in order to collect attendees’ insights and feedback via an interactive approach. Virtual attendees will also have the chance to contribute to this activity thanks to an interactive tool.

At the end of the event, project experts and delegates will wrap up lessons learnt from the workshop by summarising the feedback received, which may be helpful in identifying possible solutions to face common project challenges.

Participation in the conference requires registration and fee payment: once registered to the SUPEHR23 conference, it is possible to participate in the TES Cluster joint event for free.
