The new BRIDGE brochure 2023 is out!

The new revision of the BRIDGE brochure, the 2023 edition, has been published on the Publications Office of the EU early this week. The brochure provides a detailed description of the activities of the EC’s cooperative initiative and the developments it underwent in the last two years.

This new and updated report gives a detailed description of EU-supported projects through Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes in the areas of Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Islands, and Digitalisation across the timespan 2015-2023. It contains two-page factsheet profiles for each project. The publication provides all the necessary information to explore the context, scope and impact of all the projects developed, the consortium partners, the geographical coverage of the projects and the funding received.

On Tuesday 20 June 2023 in Brussels, the ETIP SNET and BRIDGE Key Results and Steps Forward event showcased the role of the two EC initiatives in promoting smart energy systems research and innovation.

Read the main highlights of the event that entailed a ninety-minute presentation and panel discussion followed by a networking walking dinner. The event was a Sustainable Energy Day within the framework of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).

New BRIDGE case studies published

Two more case studies were published on the BRIDGE website. These are:

Case study #7: Multi-energy grid planning for energy islands – it focuses on multi-energy planning and digitalisation to support decarbonising energy islands. In this case study, key results from six H2020 projects (MERLON, MUSE GRIDS, iELECTRIX, E-LAND, COMPILE and RENAISSANCE) are presented

Case study #8: Lessons learnt on citizen engagement – it aims at collecting and highlighting lessons learnt of a sample of BRIDGE projects (HESTIA, BRIGHT, ACCEPT, INVADE) to facilitate citizen engagement in future research projects.
