On 29 May 2024, Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission and members of the high-level jury will announce the six winners of the 2024 edition of the Natura 2000 Award.

This year’s Ceremony marks a very important milestone: the Natura 2000 Award is celebrating its 10-year anniversary! For a decade, the Award has been honouring those who tirelessly manage and protect the Natura 2000 network, create added value for local communities and their economy, and increase public awareness about our natural heritage.

Join us to celebrate the 2024 Natura 2000 heroes!

Register here for the Ceremony, which will be held in Brussels on 29 May 2024 at 18.30. The Ceremony takes place during European Green Week and is free of charge.

There is still time left to show your love for your favourite Natura 2000 hero!

Vote for your favourite initiative & talk about it!

There is still time to vote for YOUR favourite Natura 2000 Award finalist. Cast your vote up until 23:59 CEST on 25 April 2024. Your vote matters – the finalist receiving the most votes wins the Citizens’ Award!

VOTE NOW!

Let’s give the finalists a shout-out for their incredible work and share the public vote using ready-to-use visuals with friends, family, colleagues and networks. Here is why it matters:

  1. Support conservation efforts! The Natura 2000 network is key to protecting nature and maintaining our ecosystems. Spreading the word about the finalists helps to raise awareness about the importance of their conservation efforts. Maybe there is a finalist near you!

  2. Start a conversation on why nature matters! Share the public vote and kick-start a conversation with your networks, colleagues and friends about the many ways that we can contribute to protecting our biodiversity.

  3. Celebrate success! Celebrate the people and initiatives that fill the Natura 2000 network with life and help them to get the recognition they deserve.
