Small group discussion initiative launched to allow network to discuss shared priorities and challenges

An ad-hoc meeting to discuss the launch of the small group discussion initiative in the European Network of Graduate Tracking took place online on 13 December 2023. Launched at the request of countries during the Annual Network Meeting 2023 in Stockholm, the small group discussions are a new initiative to allow the Network to exchange on shared priorities and challenges in a more focused setting. These discussions aim to respond to the heterogeneity of graduate tracking systems and offer additional meeting spaces for Network members to deep dive into shared interests during a set timeframe.

date:  26/01/2024

Following a call for topics and interest in August 2023, Network members were invited to discuss two potential topics that could be taken forward through this initiative:

  • internationally comparable indicators: country representatives from Poland and Czechia presented their collaboration on developing comparable indicators on the position of graduates on the labour market in their respective country. Participants suggested that a similar exercise could be taken forward in other country pairs with the learning and results being shared with a wider group afterwards.
  • tracking mobile graduates: EU Member States and EEA countries often find it difficult to track their mobile graduates, especially through administrative data. There is therefore interest in exploring, in a small group of countries, the feasibility of sharing administrative data across borders to better track mobile graduates.

More information on the next steps and the first meetings will be shared soon on the collaborative platform.
