Workforce growth in the solar industry

The workforce of the photovoltaic sector grew by 27% to 826 000 by the end of 2023, up from 648 100 workers in 2022. This rapid growth means that Europe could see more than 1 million solar workers by 2027. (Source: SolarPower Europe Solar Jobs Report 2024).

Baltic States join the European continental electricity grid after fully disconnecting from Russian and Belarussian networks

As of 9 February, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are fully independent from Russia's and Belarus's electricity systems. They successfully integrated into the EU internal energy market by joining the European continental network via Poland.
