EIC Hub at European Research and Innovation Days

European Research and Innovation Days is the European Commission’s annual flagship Research and Innovation event, bringing together policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs and the public to debate and shape the future of research and innovation in Europe and beyond. This year, it is a fully virtual event. The EIC will be organising sessions and workshops at Hub nr 8. See below for the highlights and register today!

The European Innovation Council will host its very own set of sessions at Hub 8: European Innovation Council. The programme includes numerous breakout sessions/workshops as well as five game-changing sessions exploring the future of the EIC.

Europe's first Greenathon: hacking the European Green Deal

From 27 to 30 October, the European Innovation Council is giving its beneficiaries the opportunity to participate in the very first European ‘Greenathon’: an ideation hackathon that will digitally connect innovators funded by the EIC and have them address key sustainability challenges proposed by large European corporates.

Visit innovation hubs with the EIC: Submerge yourself in Stockholm’s vibrant innovation scene

The European start-up scene is teeming with life: many European cities are establishing themselves as some of the most vibrant start-up hubs the world has to offer. In autumn 2020, the EIC will organise three dedicated EIC virtual hub visits to Stockholm, Barcelona and Berlin, starting with the Swedish capital on 13-14 October.

Stories: EIC-funded company Varjo secures $54 Million Series C funding

Varjo is the first and only company in the world to deliver human-eye resolution virtual and mixed reality devices, meeting the most demanding enterprise applications across training and simulation, design and engineering and research. With the latest funding round, the Finnish startup has raised $100 million in total.

FET Proactive presents the BrainCom project: neural nanotechnology to restore speech and communication

Supported under the FET Proactive scheme, the BrainCom project develops novel medical devices for restoration of speech and communication in aphasic patients suffering from upper spinal cord, brainstem or brain damage. At the same time, the researchers also tackle the ethical aspects of the innovative technology.
