€38M available for Energy Efficiency: check the new funding opportunities in 2016
|
On 15 March 2016 new Horizon 2020 topics on Energy Efficiency were opened. They focus on facilitating the market uptake of energy technologies and services; fostering social innovation; removing non-technological barriers; promoting standards and accelerating the cost effective implementation of the Union's energy policies. Consumers, buildings, products, and finance for sustainable energy feature as thematic areas for funding. Apply via the Participant Portal with deadline 15th September 2016. Presentations from the corresponding Info Day are also available.

Energy Days call for applications
|
Want to raise public awareness on renewables and energy efficiency in your area? Then, submit a proposal for an event or an activity for the Energy Days! It’s a European Commission initiative designed to engage citizens and energy stakeholders to help build an Energy Union. They will take place in the month of June 2016 and the deadline for applying is on May 31st. You can organize a workshop, a competition or any other activity encouraging energy saving. The events can take place anywhere in Europe and do not have any time nor size limit.

Market uptake activities in support of the new Heating and Cooling strategy
|
Heating and cooling consume half of the EU's energy and much of it is wasted. In addition to research and demonstration, a suite of Horizon 2020 and Intelligent Energy Europe projects support the new heating and cooling strategy of the European Commission by facilitating market uptake of energy efficient and renewable heating and cooling. This review gives an overview of the projects supported by the EASME in these areas.

Making energy retrofits a standardised product for the finance industry
|
In order to increase investors’ confidence in expected energy savings and reduce financing costs, energy renovation projects need standardised assessment protocols. The Investor Confidence Project (ICP) Europe, a Horizon 2020 funded project, has recently released 6 protocols for tertiary and residential buildings to define European best practices for predicting energy savings, optimising performance, and monitoring the results of energy efficiency investments.
