5 years of European civil protection and humanitarian aid

Over the past 5 years, the EU responded to a surge in humanitarian and civil protection challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, natural hazards, and the war in Ukraine.
The EU Civil Protection Mechanism was significantly strengthened, with a 550% increase in activations within Europe and the expansion of the rescEU reserve to tackle - apart from wildfires - emergencies such as health crises.
