Madagascar: a poverty-stricken country on the front line of climate change

In June, 4 EU-based journalists travelled to Madagascar's Grand Sud region, sponsored by the EU's Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations department. Their objective was to gain insight into the humanitarian challenges faced by local communities. Philippines

The Philippines is highly exposed to various natural hazards, including tropical cyclones, active volcanoes, and other climate-related risks. In addition, the ongoing conflict between the government and armed groups in the southernmost island of Mindanao impacts the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

 
EU Humanitarian Air Bridge

The EU Humanitarian Air Bridge flight operations are intended to help reinforce humanitarian or emergency responses in countries facing fragile contexts. These flights help fill critical gaps by facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, emergency assistance, and the transport of humanitarian staff when required.

 
Sudan

Violent armed clashes broke out in Khartoum on 15 April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). These clashes quickly spread to the periphery with other actors getting involved, including in the states of Darfur, Gezira, and Kordofan.
