EIPP Matchmaking Event 2017
|
SMEs and investors from across Europe gathered in Tallinn to participate in the first European Investment Project Portal matchmaking event, in the framework of the SME Assembly 2017. The EIPP matchmaking event was organised by the European Commission, as part of the SME Assembly, the largest European event for SMEs, taking place every year under the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The event was successful, with an opening video message from Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, followed by a member of Vice-President Katainen's cabinet, Florentine Hopmeier, speaking about the EIPP in the context of the Investment Plan for Europe. ECFIN L Director Benjamin Angel presented the EIPP and moderated interventions of two Venture Capital investors, who offered participating SMEs advice on how to maximise chances of securing investment for their projects.
The event replicated the EIPP in real life, by bringing together EU-based project promoters and investors around the same table. It was concluded by the matchmaking session itself, where small businesses and investors met bilaterally to discuss investment opportunities. We look forward to the fruits of this productive "investment speed-dating"!
