European Cybersecurity Skills Conference, 21-22 September 2023, Segovia (Spain)

ENISA is pleased to announce the 2nd edition of the annual European Cybersecurity Skills Conference. This year the conference will focus on sharing and discussing progress linked to the promotion and endorsement of the ENISA Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF). The conference will also address ENISA’s role as part of the European Commission initiative: The Cybersecurity Skills Academy.

ENISA is pleased to announce the 2nd edition of the annual European Cybersecurity Skills Conference. This year the conference will focus on sharing and discussing progress linked to the promotion and endorsement of the ENISA Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF). The conference will also address ENISA’s role as part of the European Commission initiative: The Cybersecurity Skills Academy.

The conference will provide an opportunity to:

  • bring the cybersecurity-skills community together, facilitating the exchange of experiences challenges and good practices, as a result of ECSF implementation 
  • discuss different ways to improve and synergize ENISA-ECSF with other related initiatives at EU and Member States’ level
  • raise awareness on the need to promote multi-stakeholder cooperation on cybersecurity skills

Based on the European Commission Communication on Cybersecurity Skills Academy, the conference will also be an opportunity to share examples of implementation and adoption of the ECSF, specifically through:

  • Knowledge generation and training for increasing the pool of experts in the workforce
  • Coordinated approach across Governments, Industry and Academia
  • Identification of synergies for the development of cybersecurity skills            
  • Measurement of the progress in closing the skills gap.

The conference is organised under the auspices of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).

Opening speech will be delivered by the Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr Margaritis Schinas, followed by key presentations by Spanish and EU officials. Presentations will address the various aspects of the ECSF within the cybersecurity ecosystem.
