The successful launch of the AILit Framework: Empowering learners for the age of AI
date: 24/05/2025
How can we prepare students for an AI-powered world?
The European Commission, together with the OECD, Code.org, and global experts have just taken a big step in that direction. Introduced during an inspiring online event on 22 May 2025, the draft AI Literacy Framework for primary and secondary education sets out what learners need to know and be able to do to navigate and shape the future with AI.
Organised around four key domains – engaging with, creating with, managing, and designing AI, the framework outlines essential competences and includes real-life classroom use cases to help teachers bring AI to life.
Developed with support from diverse range of stakeholders, the final version will be shaped by your feedback and published in 2026.
