What is your role on the European Digital Education Hub?

I am currently a squad leader for the safety and security squad. That means I am responsible for managing the content of the online meetings. It is a great privilege to lead such a great group of talented people towards a common goal.

What is your experience in digital education?

I am connected to digital education for the past seven years, first as a teacher and now as a policy maker. I was teaching informatics for three years while also acting as a school digital coordinator. Now I am on the policy side, focusing on digital education and digital skills, while also teaching teachers about safety and security online. I work both with national and international communities focusing on digital education.

Which topic on digital education are you most invested in?

At the moment, it is digital skills and digital safety. Digital skills because of my day-to-day job and digital safety because it has been my hobby for many years – that is also why I accepted the position of squad leader in this topic. I really hope our squad output will be a helpful tool for as many of you as possible.

What is your vision for the Hub?

My vision for the Hub is for more people to join and collaborate. It is amazing how many people take part in different activities and how knowledge and experience is passed along. I wish that the amount of collaboration increases even further, such that we can have truly interconnected and digital Europe. I believe that we can all greatly benefit from this sharing platform to improve our own education systems.

Tell us your biggest highlight working on the Hub so far.

The squad meetings by themselves. I always worry how they are going to work out, if I prepared well. But our squad members always surprise me with the energy they bring in, the time allocated to our meetings always goes over fast and we have to wait two weeks for another one. I am really enjoying this journey.
