Editorial

August 2024

Dear national agencies and beneficiary institutions/organisations,

We're thrilled to extend OLS support to teachers with new blended learning options!

OLS has supported mobility participants since 2014 and now has thousands of hours of engaging online learning materials in 29 languages. In this special issue you will discover how a language teacher, trainer and mentor can use our blended learning materials to complement their lessons.

Please forward this information on to any of them who can use these tools for their language courses.

Happy reading,

The OLS team

What’s on offer?

Our blended lesson plans are available in 29 languages. These resources allow teachers to integrate OLS’s online modules into language courses before, during, or after class sessions. The lesson plans are perfect for preparing Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps participants for life in a new country or for helping them develop specific skills through ready-to-use activities. They are customised for different groups, such as younger pupils or for vocational students.

We also offer additional information about other teaching methods, like the flipped classroom approach. In this approach, students first encounter new concepts and material at home, usually through videos or reading assignments. This allows language teachers to dedicate class time to practising new skills, leading to more interactive and fun lessons. You can learn more about the flipped classroom by clicking the ‘More’ button below and downloading the info sheet.
