Fresh out of the publications oven: “Framing the European way for the digital decade. Inspiring practices in digital education across the EU” is now available to the wider public!  

The report explores inspiring practices in digital education across the 27 EU countries, resulting from an extensive mapping using resources such as OECD, UNESCO, JRC, EPALE, research organisations, universities, Erasmus+ projects, private sector initiatives, etc. Each country showcases one or two inspiring practices through a standardised template, accompanied by comparative statistical data sourced from Digital Economy and Society Index 2022 and European Innovation Scoreboard 2022. The report merely constitutes a snapshot at national level of some digital education initiatives, which can serve as inspiration for the community nurtured under the European Digital Education Hub and beyond. Inspiring practice: "ITs4Women, IT skills for women" project 

The "ITs4Women, IT skills for women" project sought to encourage women and girls to explore tech-related opportunities, improve digital skills, and increase their presence in STEM jobs and ICT environments. The project produced resources including an online platform and LinkedIn community, fostered collaboration and provided support for women in the IT industry. This model can be replicated to build regional networks and promote digital education for women and girls in the IT sector, contributing to a more diverse and inclusive workforce in the global tech industry. The success of the initiative highlights the significance of addressing barriers and challenges faced by women in tech, creating a supportive community that promotes gender equality and diversity in the industry. 

Inspiring practice from the Community: Edulai platform 

The Edulai learning platform specialises in evaluating and enhancing soft skills and critical thinking abilities for companies, head-hunters, and universities. The platform focuses on AI-driven, customisable skills assessment – providing users with personalised insights into their strengths and weaknesses, coupled with high-quality learning resources for skill development. The platform facilitates the transition to remote work and online education, meeting modern digital demands. Key offerings include the Edulai Skills Checker®, interactive Edulai Academy courses, and digital badges for skill verification.

Inspiring practice – "Teach FOR FUTURE" project 

"TEACH FOR FUTURE – Educational Transformation of Adults through Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship" – this inspiring practice enhances learning opportunities for adults in ICT, innovation management, network collaboration, leadership, and entrepreneurship. It addresses the educational needs of low-educated adults, integrating essential skills for the current job market. The project fosters creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit through diverse activities like 3D modelling, digital marketing, and mentoring campuses. Its comprehensive approach and potential for broad application make it a model for transforming adult education in the digital age.

Digital Technologies for Early Childhood Education  

This article explores the pivotal role of digital tools in transforming early childhood education, especially highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world grappled with school closures, the necessity to integrate digital technologies into early learning became apparent. While offering a lifeline for educational continuity, concerns arose about the impact on children's well-being, social development, and health. The article delves into the potential of digital technologies to enhance literacy, numeracy, creativity, and exploration in young learners. It highlights the importance of deliberate integration of these tools into curricula and the challenges in ensuring equitable access and effective use across diverse socio-economic backgrounds. No least, it reflects on the critical role of teacher training and the development of digital resources to optimise the benefits of technology in early education, paving the way for a more inclusive and effective learning environment for the youngest learners.
