New Mission Stories out now!

Is your region facing environmental hazards such as extreme temperatures, flooding, droughts or rising sea levels? Learn how other EU regions and local authorities facing similar issues are adapting to the effects of climate change through the Mission Stories.

MIP4Adapt has published several new Mission Stories to showcase real-life examples of regional or local actions and good practices of climate adaptation solutions. The Stories cover a range of locations, from a World Heritage City in Spain to rural Germany and coastal Italy.

RESIST: Natural Climate Solutions in Finland’s Breadbasket

RESIST is an EU-funded project adopting a new practical framework to test climate adaptation pathways in four EU regions.

In its Building Climate Resilience series, it has developed a story from Southwest Finland highlighting how climate change is affecting farming in an area vital to Finland’s food security. Prolonged droughts during growing periods and increased rain in the winter amplify hazards such as soil erosion and nutrient leaching. These impacts force local farmers to overhaul how they work the land.
