Last month, in a nutshell
|
|
Welcome to the November issue of our newsletter! Here are the latest EU climate news highlights.
At COP28, currently underway in Dubai, the EU is calling for urgent action to accelerate emissions reductions and the clean energy transition in this critical decade to uphold the goals of the Paris Agreement. To join the conversation in Dubai, don’t forget to attend our almost 100 EU side events!
Ahead of the summit, we also published a report on the European Climate Stocktake event we held in October to gather civil society’s views on EU and global progress on climate – and summarised their key messages in a submission to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
November was a remarkable month for the European Green Deal, as several deals were struck between EU institutions on measures to tackle emissions, boost Europe’s electrification, and protect our nature. While approving funding for more than 170 environment and climate-related LIFE projects, the EU has launched €4.8 billion-worth of funding opportunities via the Innovation Fund to support the deployment of net-zero technologies and renewable hydrogen across our continent.
Before you go, a small reminder: the call for organisations to become European Climate Pact Partners is now open!
