This methodology, developed by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), aims to support countries in assessing the current state of infrastructure resilience, so that areas of improvement are identified, and actions taken.

To establish a common understanding of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) policies, regulations and processes, UNDRR and Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) have endeavoured to develop a global structured methodology to:

  1. assist countries assess the current level of resilience;
  2. identify gaps that need to be addressed for optimal resilience;
  3. formulate an implementation plan.

This facilitates the implementation of the Principles for Resilient Infrastructure and assists countries in building infrastructure resilience.
