Celebrating 40 years of EU Research and Innovation
2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the EU’s first funding programme dedicated to science, research and innovation. Over four decades, the EU has set aside more than €280 billion for science, research and innovation through successive framework programmes and has signed over 120 000 grants with some 75 000 beneficiaries. Five CINEA projects feature in the campaign launched by DG RTD to promote 40 research projects in honour of this anniversary.

EC President visits the ‘Creating NEBourhoods Together’ Horizon Europe project in Germany
On 13 September, the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, visited the demonstration area of the Horizon Europe NEBourhood project, one of the six lighthouse demonstrators of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) funded by the EU to address the challenges of climate, environment and health.
Colleagues from B4 have been visiting CEF Energy supported projects in Slovakia and Czechia. Besides doing site visits, they attended together with Oliver Silla the inauguration of the Mierovo smart substation in Slovakia and had an active role in the Smart Grid PCI Summit in Budapest.
