The LIFE Programme celebrated its #LIFEis32 anniversary
|
Since 1992, the LIFE Programme has co-financed more than 6 000 projects across the EU and supported the conservation of more than 6 000 sites within the Natura 2000 network. The European Commission has increased the LIFE budget to EUR 5.4 billion for 2021 to 2027. We celebrated the #LIFEis32 anniversary on 21 May and spread the word with our ready-to-go social media toolkit.

18 cleantech projects to receive EUR 173 million in EU funding
|
The Innovation Fund, financed through the EU Emissions Trading System, will support 15 projects selected under the third small-scale call and 3 projects selected under the third large-scale call for proposals. These projects have a great potential to contribute to Europe’s decarbonisation and clean energy transition.

Grant agreements signed for eight awarded projects under the PCI 2023 Call
|
Following the 2023 call for proposals for Studies & Works for Projects of Common Interest, CINEA has signed Grant Agreements with all eight projects that were awarded EU funding under the Connecting Europe Facility Energy programme. This is a significant milestone for these projects to advance in their implementation.

EUR 27.5 million supporting 7 solar power plants in Finland with the EU Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism
|
Following the first tender of the EU renewable energy financing mechanism (RENEWFM), seven projects have signed the grant agreement with CINEA, which is the first step in order to kick off their implementation. The projects will contribute to the achievement of the national targets for renewables in Finland and Luxembourg.

10 years of the European Maritime, Fisheries (and Aquaculture) Fund at a glance
|
To mark the celebration of 10 years since the adoption of the European Maritime, Fisheries (and Aquaculture) Fund, CINEA published an infographic with the main milestones of the Fund. In 10 years, with a budget of EUR 389.5 million, EMFF/EMFAF funded more than 500 projects and engaged more than 8 000 stakeholders.

Smarter membranes for lower-cost hydrogen production
|
Thanks to an EUR 11 million grant from the Innovation Fund, the GIGA-SCALES project is set to establish an industrial-scale production plant for innovative membranes. These membranes, crucial for green hydrogen production, act as separators in electrolysers, which enhances their efficiency and durability.

Making the future of electric cars light-weight and recyclable
|
Carbon neutrality by 2050 will not be achieved without advances in road transport, which is responsible for 76% of transport emissions in Europe. Thanks to EU-funded research project ALMA, battery-operated cars that are recyclable and energy-efficient are now close at hand.
