€17.8 million available for projects under the New European Bauhaus call

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is an initiative launched by the European Commission to translate the European Green Deal into tangible changes on the ground which improve our daily lives. Apply by 19 September 2024 for topics on the potential of secondary bio-based products, a New European Bauhaus Hub for results and impact, and new governance models for the co-design and co-construction of public spaces in neighbourhoods by communities.

EU funding available for supporting NGO work on the clean energy transition

The LIFE 2024 Calls on Operating Grants invite non-profit organisations active in the fields of environment, climate action and clean energy transition to submit their proposals.

In the clean energy transition field, the LIFE operating grants will aim at supporting in particular NGOs engaging on the implementation and transposition of the Fit-for-55 legislation (energy efficiency, energy performance of buildings and renewable energy) in Member States. Apply now!

Innovation Fund auction provides €720 million for renewable hydrogen production in Europe, under the European Hydrogen Bank

The Commission is awarding nearly €720 million to seven renewable hydrogen projects in Europe, selected through the first competitive bidding process under the European Hydrogen Bank. Together, the winning bidders plan to produce 1.58 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen over ten years, avoiding more than 10 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.

First PCIs/PMIs list data available on Transparency Platform

CINEA has updated the Transparency Platform with the new data coming from the first Union list of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs). The list compiles 166 projects to implement cross-border energy infrastructure in the EU and to help deliver the European Green Deal.

On 15 May 2014, the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) Regulation was adopted, introducing direct funding opportunities through calls for proposals and calls for tenders. Beccs Stockholm: delivering net carbon removals with clean energy

The project will transform Stockholm Exergi’s existing co-generation biomass plant into a full-scale Bio-Energy Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) facility that captures biogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) and stores it permanently underground, thus creating negative emissions by removing CO2 from the atmosphere.

Port of Antwerp-Bruges launches world’s first methanol-powered tugboat

The “Methatug” is part of the EU-funded Fastwater project that explores the feasibility of methanol as a sustainable fuel for shipping. The launch marks a significant step not only for greening the Port's own fleet, but also towards wider EU goals to reach climate-neutrality by 2050.
