Deletion of revisions from the CMS

In order to improve the performance of the Commission core site (https://ec.europa.eu/info/), we will limit the history of page versions to 6 months.

The CMS creates and stores a new page version (revision) every time a page is saved or its status is updated. Currently the number of stored revisions is unlimited, which results in a very large database that slows down the site and complicates both editorial and technical updates, therefore this operation can’t be further postponed.

Please note that the history of page versions older than 6 months will be deleted. Currently published page versions and drafts will not be impacted.

The deletion will start on 22 January after working hours and will continue over the weekend.
