Improve response time for EDCC cases

Improve response time for EDCC cases

date:  15/05/2024

The Europe Direct Contact Centre (EDCC) is the default point to contact the European Commission (see the footer of any of your webpages). The EDCC could thus receive feedback or enquiries related to your web presence.

COMM Europa Management (CEM) helps the EDCC by identifying owners of content on Europa websites and by forwarding EDCC cases to the Web coordinators within DGs.

The EDCC charter implies certain obligations to ensure that citizens receive timely answers to their questions. This includes a requirement to reply within 15 working days. In exceptional cases, when more than 15 working days are needed, a holding reply must be sent.

Therefore, could you prioritize such EDCC cases and, if needed, coordinate an answer with any relevant services in your DG? When the reply is ready, please send it back to CEM who will register it for you in the EDCC’s ticketing system.

Noteworthy, the staff of the EDCC includes native speakers of the EU's 24 official languages, as well as Ukrainian and Russian. So, prepare a reply in English and do not worry about the citizen’s language!
